Fish Tales
[Ages: 7-12] Class ID: 9565
Explore local waters from a fish's point of view. Check out artificial and live baits,
tie your own lure and learn basic knot tying. Learn about world record catches, water
safety, and try your hand at casting. A field trip will be taken to the Lock 16 Canal
during camp. You will catch yourself loving this fun, family sport. Students should bring a fishing pole, backpack, snack, sunscreen and drink to class.
We will be using the IVCC shuttle to take field trips to local fishing locations.

Battle Bots
[Ages: 8-12] Class ID: 9570
Let the battle begin! Calling all combat masters. Campers will learn to design and
build motorized battle robots. Using principles of simple and complex machines, gearing,
and mechanical advantage, students will try to flip, push, pull or overcome their
opponent’s battle robot. The robots will battle against one another in tasks such
as sumo-wrestling, tug-o-war, head-to-head combat and much more. Campers will put
their skills to the test and see who can build the best battle bot and the designer
of the “last robot standing” for each round will be the winner. Campers will bring home a solar robot kit at the end of camp. [1 week-3 sessions]

CAD for Kids!
[Ages: 9-12] Class ID: 9442
Experience the digital design world and bring your ideas to life! Join us for this
hands-on computer aided design (CAD) class where students will be introduced to professional-level
modeling software that will allow them to create all types of unique designs and projects.
Students will be given a final project that they will have the opportunity to print,
using IVCC’s state of the art 3D printer! [1 week-4 sessions]

Space Camp
[Ages: 5-7] Class ID: 9583
3…2…1… Blast Off! in our Astronaut Training Course! Future rocketeers will participate
in a science project, enjoy story and craft time, make rockets and we will even have
a special guest visitor from NASA! We might even sample some “space food.” Learn about
stars and our solar system and find out if there is really a man in the moon and if
the moon is really made of cheese! Campers should bring a sack lunch that does not need to be refrigerated. [1 week-1 session]

Science “FUN”damentals

Discover the “fun”damentals of science with two professional chemists from Carus and
conduct all new experiments! Together, we will explore the states of matter, review
basic lab safety rules, and discuss the process of the scientific method. Each camper
will conduct a special experiment and participate in some very cool challenges, testing
these methods. [1 week-1 session]
