Illinois Valley Community College’s summer and fall enrollments are both seeing steady increases, the Board of Trustees learned on Tuesday. Summer enrollment has increased 14.46 percent in headcount and 18.15 percent in credit hours compared to Summer 2024, as of numbers provided on May 12. Simultaneously, fall enrollment is also seeing an increase of 2.65 percent in headcount and 7.08 percent in credit hours compared to Fall 2024.

In her monthly report to the Board, College President Dr. Tracy Morris provided an update on the progress of the College’s strategic and institutional plans, including a newly developed marketing and communications plan.

In other action, the Board:

  • Authorized a three-year contract extension with Transformative Community Health to provide mental health counseling and peer services at a cost of $111,500 in 2026, $116,300 in 2027 and $111,800 in 2028. The service satisfies the requirements of the Mental Health Early Action on Campus Act.
  • Authorized the purchase of two Chevrolet electric vehicles at a cost not to exceed $45,000 to introduce into the automotive program's electric vehicle maintenance curriculum.
  • Learned of the one-year extension of the farm lease to Luke Holly for $37,800.
  • Learned that the College has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for its FY 2024 financial report. IVCC has achieved similar recognition every year since FY 1994.
  • Learned of the resignations of Rebecca Caldwell, early childhood education instructor; Fidelmar Mora, assistant men’s soccer coach, and David Britton, assistant men’s basketball coach and of the retirement of instructor James Hinterlong.
