September 2025 Board Report
SEPTEMBER 18, 2025
The Illinois Valley Community College Board of Trustees learned on Tuesday that enrollment continues to grow steadily. Fall 2025 enrollment increased nearly 4 percent in headcount and 2.72 percent in credit hours over last fall, President Dr. Tracy Morris said. Increases occurred in both traditional and online credit hours.
In other action, the Board:
- Heard a recap of the popular children’s Ed’Venture summer camp series. More than 430 youths between the ages of 5 and 17 years old participated in 42 camps – and more than 170 of them participated in more than one camp. Arts/nature/creativity camps led in popularity, followed by technology/game design and science camps. Some 65 teens enrolled in career camps.
- Presided over a public hearing over issuing Working Cash Fund bonds to increase the working cash fund. No public comments were presented. A Board vote on the issuance will take place at a future meeting. These bonds will be used for campus facility upgrades.
- Approved the purchase of furniture for the 2025 campus renovations from Krueger International, Green Bay, Wis., in the amount of $428,100.
- Authorized purchases of services to maintain and upgrade technology systems.
- Approved an annual $10,000 match for the TRIO program, also known as Project Success, so the program can continue to offset costs of tuition, books, supplies and other expenses for qualified students.
- Learned of the appointments of Justin Grosenbach, maintenance, Daniela Diaz Zesati, financial aid advisor, and Mercedes Ruiz, financial aid advisor.
