Nominations sought for IVCC-LPO Hall of Fame
The Illinois Valley Community College Foundation-sponsored IVCC-LPO Hall of Fame is seeking to recognize the achievements of distinguished former students, former college employees, and others in 2026.
The deadline to submit nominations for induction into the Class of 2026 is Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026.
The Hall of Fame was established in 2008 to honor the academic, fine arts, athletic or career achievements of former students and former college employees during their years at the College or in their personal or professional lives. In addition, individuals may be honored who may not have attended the College but who have made a significant difference in the lives of students through their service or generosity.
Inductees will be chosen by March and honored Saturday, June 6, 2026. To date, a total of 76 individuals and five teams/groups have been inducted into the hall of fame, including Helen Taylor (2009) and Dr. Alfred E. Wisgoski (2010).
Taylor’s $100,000 bequest led to the creation of the IVCC Foundation in 1976, which is why the Foundation will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary next year. Dr. Wisgoski served as IVCC’s longest-tenured president from 1974 to 1996, and his trust recently donated $1 million to the College. In recognition of his gift, the new IVCC Agricultural Education Center will bear his name.
