Cannabis Program
Cannabis Production Certificate
What is Cannabis Production?
Students earning a Cannabis Production Certificate study the fundamentals of cannabis production, as well as economics and legal issues associated with hemp and marijuana production. Cannabis Production students apply agronomic techniques in pest management and soil fertility to cannabis cultivation practices.
Hands-On Training and Experience
Learn from experts in the cannabis industry as they join class as guest speakers covering topics from compliance, industry opportunities, and how they entered the cannabis industry.
IVCC is licensed to grow and process industrial hemp through the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Students have the opportunity to grow plants from seed and apply standard industry practices from cloning and tissue culturing, running HPLC analysis, and more!
Program Options
Students can explore the field through a Cannabis Production Certificate and/or take those certificate courses earned and apply them to a full, two-year, AAS degree in Agronomy.
Affordability
IVCC tuition is just one-third to one-fourth the cost of state universities and far below most private institutions. An approximation of tuition and fees can be found on the IVCC website Payment page.
Many scholarship opportunities are available through the IVCC Foundation.
