Opening doors to higher education

IVCC Scholarship Campaign

An Illinois Valley Community College campaign to help students realize dreams of a college education has surpassed its initial $500,000 goal.

The initiative is providing recent high school graduates and underemployed adults access to higher education.

At a time of increased need, the campaign is dramatically increasing IVCC's financial assistance to students. Over 100 students have already benefited.

With donations from alumni, friends and community partners -- including a $150,000 lead gift from alumnus/philanthropist Ralph Scriba -- the campaign surpassed its Phase I goal in August, 2016.

The drive is helping students achieve degrees and certificates that lead to productive, rewarding careers and significant increases in lifetime income.

A recent Northern Illinois University report found IVCC career program graduates enjoy a lifetime earnings gain of nearly $900,000.

“IVCC graduates earn a tremendous return on investment,” said IVCC President Jerry Corcoran. “This campaign is giving more students an extraordinary opportunity.”

Contributions have built an endowment to serve students today and into perpetuity.

Donations of $250 and up will be recognized on a prominently placed donor wall inside the CTC main entrance. To donate, call Fran Brolley, Director of Community Relations & Development, at (815) 224-0466.
