What is Industrial Maintenance? students working on machines

The bridge between manufacturing and engineering. Graduates use a combination of theory and “hands on” approach to complete tasks as needed by manufacturers to improve quality and productivity. The Industrial Maintenance Certificate program prepares you to install, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of industrial machinery used in manufacturing settings. You also learn a variety of skills used in construction. Technicians may work in factories that manufacture, finish, or assemble many different types of products. They may also work with the construction or setup of facilities..

Multiple Program Options

You have the option of earning multiple certificates and/or continuing on to earn an Engineering Technology Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree.

The 16 credit hour Maintenance Certificate contains a list of prescriptive courses chosen to meet the required gateway skills for entry level employment. The Industrial Maintenance I Certificate has 30 credit hours, the Certificates are stackable within the Engineering Technology AAS Degree. The Engineering Technology AAS is part of a 3+1 articulation agreement with Northern Illinois University.

Hands On Training and Experience

Each class is focused on providing you with the essential hands-on skills needed to succeed as Industrial Maintenance Technicians. Coupled with classroom instruction and some computer based learning, you will be equipped to find employment in a wide range of industrial and commercial facilities.
