Online Class Delivery Formats

IVCC offers classes in a variety of formats. To search for the different formats that are offered by term, use IVCC Self-Service and filter by term and location. The locations are:

• Internet Classes
• Blended Main Campus
• Ottawa Ctr - Blended
• Virtual Class Meeting

Internet Classes

Delivered via the internet with dates but no specific meeting times online or in-person.

• Course Title:  Department prefix - Course number - Sections starting at 100, up to 149
• Time/Meeting Information:  TBD with Start - End Dates
• Location:  ON- LINE

Blended Classes

Delivered both in a classroom at a specific location and time and via the internet with no specific meeting times.  Classroom time is reduced by the time spent online.

• Course Title:  Department prefix - Course number - Sections starting at 150
• Time/Meeting Information:  Days of week, time of day, Start - End Dates; TBD, Start - End Dates, Blended ON- Line for online component;
• Location:  Displays building and room number for classroom component and displays ON- LINE for the online component

Virtual Classes

Delivered via the internet with specific online live meeting times.  Students need a webcam and microphone to participate in online live meetings.

• Course Title:  Department prefix - Course number - Sections starting at 170 (daytime) or 370 (evening)
• Time/Meeting Information:  Days of week, time of day, Start - End Dates, ON- LINE; Virtual link will be provided within the course in Brightspace or in an email;
  
• Location:  ON- LINE, VCM - Virtual Class Meetings
