Class Delivery Formats

IVCC offers classes in a variety of formats. Students can use IVCC Self-Service when registering for classes. See below for the class delivery format (i.e. is the class in-person, online, blended, or virtual). The section numbers and meeting times of a course provides the information on the delivery format.

In-Person/On-Campus Classes

A traditional in-person class held in a classroom on campus.
Course Title: Department prefix - Course number - Sections starting at 01 (daytime, main campus), 300 (evening, main campus), or 600 (Ottawa Center)
Time/Meeting Information: Days of week, time of day, Start - End Dates, Room #
Location: MC - Main Campus, OC - Ottawa Center

Internet, Fully Online Classes

Delivered via the internet with dates but no specific meeting times online or in-person.
Course Title: Department prefix - Course number - Sections starting at 100, up to 149
Time/Meeting Information: TBD with Start - End Dates
Location: ON- LINE or Internet Classes

Blended Classes

Delivered both in a classroom on campus and via the internet. Classroom time is reduced by the time spent online.
Course Title: Department prefix - Course number - Sections starting at 150
Time/Meeting Information: Days of week, time of day, Start - End Dates, Room # for classroom component; TBD, Start - End Dates, Blended ON- Line for online component;
Location: Displays room number for classroom component and displays ON- LINE or Internet Classes for the online component

Virtual Classes

Delivered via the internet with specific online live meeting times. Students need a webcam and microphone to participate in online live meetings.
Course Title: Department prefix - Course number - Sections starting at 170 (daytime) or 370 (evening)
Time/Meeting Information: Days of week, time of day, Start - End Dates, Virtual Class Meeting, ON-LINE
