Finding a Policy/Procedure

All IVCC Board Policies and Institutional Procedures are housed in a system called Policy Tech. There are several ways to find policies and procedures:

  1. If you want to Browse the policy and procedure documents, there are two options.
    1. The screen defaults to a list of ALL policies and procedures.
      1. To move between the multiple pages of documents, use the arrows at the bottom right of the screen to move through the full list of documents.
    2. To see them by Division, click on the plus sign to the left of Policies and Procedures. Click the Division you want to browse.
      1. For Divisions with multiple pages, use the arrows at the bottom right of the screen to move through the full list of documents.
  2. If you know the policy or procedure number, you can type that into the search box and then press the eyeglass icon. The policy will appear.
  3. If you do not know the policy or procedure number, you can search by keywords. Enter the keyword you are looking for into the search box and press the eyeglass icon. Any policy or procedure with that word in the title will appear.
  4. If you want to search the text of the documents, using the three dots next to the eyeglass icon, you can change the search field to Full Text.

General Guidelines for Policy/Procedure Structure

Policies are 4-digit numbers and procedures are 6-digit numbers.

  • The first two numbers indicate the Division.
  • The second two numbers indicate the Policy.
  • The third set of two numbers indicate the Procedure.

The Divisions include

  • Division 1: Board of Trustees
  • Division 2: Academic Services
  • Division 3: Personnel
  • Division 4: Business Services
  • Division 5: College and Community Relations
  • Divisions 6: General Policies

Viewing a Policy/Procedure

To view a policy/procedure, click on the Blue Link.

  • If you want to print a policy, it will automatically convert it to a PDF, which you have to open and then print. Use the print icon on the top right corner.
  • There is an immersive reader option.
    • Use the three dots at the top right corner and select immersive reader.
    • You can select a male or female voice, as well as adjust the speed of the reader.
  • You have the option to translate the policy into another language.
    • Use the three dots at the top right corner and select Translate and then select the language. To return to the English version, select View the Original.
