May 2026 Board Meeting Report

The Illinois Valley Community College Board of Trustees approved two vehicle purchases that will expand skills for truck driver trainees and automotive students.

The Board authorized the purchase of a 2025 F-750 Diesel Regular Cab Base from Morrow Brothers Ford of Greenfield at a cost of $125,363, with funding from the Innovative Bridges and Transitions (IBT) grant. The vehicle will expand students’ experience driving different sized vehicles. Class B trucks are widely used by municipalities, the state transportation department, and contractors hauling smaller, lighter loads.

The Board also authorized the purchase of a Tesla Model 3 Premium AWD at a cost of $49,100 through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Group, using the REV UP EV Grant. This will allow automotive students to expand their knowledge of electric vehicle service, diagnostics, and repair.

In her monthly report to the Board, IVCC President Dr. Tracy Morris reported that summer enrollment is slightly higher than Summer 2025 and that fall enrollment is showing strong gains over last year, with nearly two months to go before classes begin.

In other action, the Board

  • Approved renewing a 60-month contract with Constellation for the purchase of electricity.
  • Approved a contract with JB Contracting for maintenance repairs to site lighting and security cameras in campus parking lots at a cost of $26,220.
  • Approved administrative contract addendums for President Tracy Morris and Vice President for Business Services and Finance Kathy Ross.
