IVCC ratifies teacher contract

The Illinois Valley Community College Board approved a two-year contract with its faculty union, Local 1810 of the American Federation of Teachers, on Tuesday.

The contract included a 3.5 percent raise (in alignment with the raises for the campus) and a 2 percent market adjustment for faculty covered by the agreement for a total 5.5 percent increase in year 1 and a 3.5 percent increase in year 2. The contract also included increases for overload pay, adjustments to the salary schedule for initial placement, and an updated Voluntary Retirement Incentive Program. The fully executed contract will be posted on the IVCC website.

Also Tuesday, in her monthly report to the Board, IVCC President Dr. Tracy Morris noted the College testing facility's services remain in high demand by the community. High-stakes licensing and certification tests by community members accounted for one-third of all tests administered by the IVCC Assessment Center in September 2026.

In other action, the Board:

  • Authorized a $3.6 million issuance of General Obligation Community College Bonds to increase the district’s working cash fund.
  • Authorized preparation of the 2026 tax levy.
  • Authorized the purchase of furniture for the renovated IT Department from Krueger International of Green Bay, Wis. and shelving for the renovated Academic Support Center from Henricksen of Peoria.
  • Authorized the purchase and installation of audio-visual technology upgrades for 10 classrooms from Intech Innovations.
  • Approved College calendars for 2027, 2028, and 2029 fall, spring and summer semesters.
