Explore IVCC open house to feature dual credit, college prep sessions

Prospective students can Explore IVCC at an open house on Tuesday, September 29, where they can learn about programs and services, meet current students, faculty, and staff and tour the College.

The event opens at 5 p.m. in the Dr. Mary Margaret Weeg Cultural Centre with a breakout session introducing IVCC's dual credit program, which makes it possible for students to earn college credit while still in high school.

At 5:30 p.m. President Dr. Tracy Morris will welcome guests and a panel of students will share their experiences at the College.

Following the introductory sessions, prospective students and families can meet and talk with academic program coordinators, faculty, counselors, and student service representatives at a resource fair. Guided campus tours will be available and participants will have opportunities to get IVCC gear during the evening.

Then at 6:30 p.m., a second breakout session will provide an opportunity for students to assess their college readiness and learn ways to achieve their goals and thrive.

“The breakout sessions give students and families an opportunity to learn information specific to where they are in their college journey,” said Recruitment Coordinator Kaitlyn Edgcomb. “At the resource fair, each table is an opportunity to learn more about what IVCC has to offer and who can help throughout that college experience.”

Registration for Explore IVCC is recommended and can be done by visiting www.ivcc.edu/explore. Attendance is encouraged for anyone considering enrolling next spring or fall. Spring Class Registration opens on October 28 and spring classes begin January 15, 2027.
