April 2026 Board Report

Eleven retired professionals were awarded  honorary emeritus status for their outstanding service at the Illinois Valley Community College Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday.

Recognized were retired counselor Dean Capponi, faculty members Gilbert Meyer, Randy Rambo, Michael Sankovich, and Robert Schott, retired adjunct faculty Lincoln Frost, retired staff Diane Kreiser and Richard Vicich and retired administrators Ron Groleau, Carole Caresio Swanson and Emily Vescogni.

In her monthly report to the Board, Dr. Morris updated summer and fall semester enrollment figures, noting an increase in both headcount and credit hours compared to Summer and Fall 2025. Registration opened April 1 for Summer Session A which begins May 18 and Summer Session B which begins June 10. Fall classes begin August 14.

In other action, the Board:

• Welcomed 2026-2027 Student Trustee Jacy Miller and recognized outgoing Student Trustee Danica Scoma for her leadership and service.
• Renewed technology purchases for admissions and enrollment services.
• Approved support for two Seneca tax increment financing districts.
• Learned that the continuing education and workforce development program has been certified by the leading continuing education association, Learning Resources Network (LERN).
