After a successful private phase championed by major donors, Illinois Valley Community College is inviting the community to join in supporting the future of agricultural education in the Illinois Valley.

The College announced the public launch of the Ag Forward Campaign to help reach the $2.5 million fundraising goal for the new Dr. Alfred E. Wisgoski Agricultural Education Center.

“This is an opportunity for everyone who believes in the future of our region to be part of something lasting,” said Tracy Beattie, executive director of the IVCC Foundation. “A gift to the Ag Forward Campaign is an investment in the next generation of agricultural leaders, innovators, business owners, and workforce professionals. The impact of this facility will extend far beyond the walls of the building.”

Thanks to the generosity of early supporters, donors, businesses, and community partners, the campaign has raised $2.179 million. Now, the IVCC Foundation is inviting the broader community to partner in bringing the vision to completion.

The new Dr. Alfred E. Wisgoski Agricultural Education Center on the Oglesby campus is expected to be completed by the spring of 2027. The project has also received public grants to support the cost of construction.

The 10,250-square-foot building puts students at the heart of the College’s 153-acre farm where they can easily apply theory to practice. The modern learning spaces are designed to support hands-on education and workforce training and strengthen connections between students and the region's agricultural community.

“Agriculture has always been an essential part of the Illinois Valley, and this project represents an investment not only in our students, but in the future of our entire community,” said IVCC President Dr. Tracy Morris. “The Ag Forward Campaign is about creating opportunities, supporting local industry, and ensuring that IVCC can continue to prepare a skilled workforce in this growing area for generations to come.”

Two large naming opportunities remain available and donations of $500 or more will be recognized on a Donor Wall. Gifts of every size can make a difference. Individuals, families, businesses, agricultural organizations, and community members are encouraged to learn more about the project and support the future of agriculture in our community by helping raise the additional funds needed to complete this critical project.
