‘Get Set’ at IVCC
“Get Set,” IVCC’s summer bridge program, will help new high school graduates and new and re-entering adults from underrepresented groups prepare for college. In addition to new high school graduates and new/re-entering adult students, we would accept nominations for any returning student that staff/faculty feel might benefit from Get Set. The program begins the week of July 25 and offers daytime and evening options. Incentives for participation are available. For information, visit Questions? Contact Tina Hardy at ext. 284 or

Jacobs Library changing databases
Starting July 1, Jacobs Library is changing up a few of its databases. Nexis Uni and ABC-Clio databases will be discontinued. This includes Pop Culture Universe, African American Experience, American Indian Experience, and Latino American Experience. If you are a faculty member with SU22 courses, please notify your students of this change. If anyone has questions or concerns, contact Jacobs Library and we can help you find equivalent resources in our catalog.

Additionally, we will be adding two new databases. The first week of July we will gain access to GenderWatch and Overdrive with the Libby app. GenderWatch by ProQuest will bring us resources with authoritative perspectives on gender and women's studies and research. Overdrive will provide eBooks and eAudiobooks for leisure, much like Axis 360. Using the Libby app, you can listen and read on a number of devices. All of these resources are available for students, faculty, staff and administrators. More information will be sent when these become available.

Thank you, Grace Norris, Electronic Resource Librarian ext. 263

Library staff culled through the millions of available books to recommend their favorite picks for the summer! Check them out at, where you can also recommend a book that we might feature on our Instagram and Facebook pages every Monday this summer!
