What is Therapeutic Massage?Therapeutic Massage Student

Therapeutic massage is the use of your hands to apply various scientific techniques to the soft tissues and muscular structure of the body. A massage therapist is a licensed massage practitioner who has received education and training in the theory and practice of therapeutic massage and is competent and qualified to practice massage as a therapeutic modality. The IVCC Therapeutic Massage Program instructs in Swedish massage, the most common form of therapeutic massage. Graduates of this program will be eligible for Illinois state licensure.

Multiple Program Options

Students can obtain a certificate (full & part-time enrollment options), advanced certificate, and an AAS degree. The Advanced Clinical Certificate designed for licensed massage therapists to advance their scope of practice in order to work more closely with healthcare professionals as part of the team or individually. The AAS dergee in Therapeutic Massage provides the practitioner a professional advantage in building a successful and rewarding massage practice. All graduates will be prepared to sit for the massage licensing exam (MBLEx) in order to become a licensed practicing massage professional.

Therapeutic Massage students experience hands on learning from top notch instructors who are active in their fields of expertise.
