Focused primarily on students who are the first in their family to attend college, Illinois Valley Community College’s Admissions office hosts “Summer College Connection” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 19.

The event starts in the Dr. Mary Margaret Weeg Cultural Centre with a student panel and will be followed by a cookout, water balloon trivia in the courtyard, raffles and tours.

Assistant Director of Admissions, Records and Transfer Services Aseret Loveland said, “The free event for first-generation students is an opportunity for incoming IVCC students to learn what it takes to be a successful college student and to connect with their future classmates.”
