Detoxifying Your Body and Living Environment

Illinois Valley Community College’s Continuing Education Center offers “Detoxifying Your Body and Living Environment: Removing Obstacles to Health” (CPD-3145-09) from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 in C316.

Students will learn about common chemicals being introduced into their bodies, homes and the environment and ways to minimize exposure, detoxify their bodies and replace common personal care and cleaning products with natural, non-toxic ingredients.

By the end of class, students will be able to define exotoxins and endotoxins, describe autointoxication, identify the body’s eliminative organs and channels and learn about the concept of synergy when chemicals are combined.

Instructor Candice Chaffee is a certified master herbalist and natural health professional who has studied, practiced and taught holistic health for 25 years.

The class is available to the public; nurses and massage therapists receive six continuing education hours. Cost of the class is $79. For information, call (815) 224-0427 or (815) 224-0447 to register.
