Cooking with Beer class

Illinois Valley Community College’s Continuing Education Office offers “Cooking with Beer” from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 in CTC123 of the Oglesby campus.

Chef Tim Freed presents recipes including beer cheese soup, beer braised sausage and peppers, beer bread and pancakes all made using beer as a culinary ingredient. Additional recipes will be presented at class. Students will learn basic flavor profiles, pairings and how to utilize the flavors of beer with food.

Cost is $35 and there is a $25 material fee payable to the instructor. Students must be age 21 or older to register. Call (815) 224-0427 for information or (815) 224-0447 to register.
