Thank you for your interest in Illinois Valley Community College. Due to the fact that our resources are somewhat limited for international students (two examples: no public transportation or housing associated with the college), we strongly encourage our international students to have a local sponsor within the district for support needed for success. For those students who reside with a family member or exchange program host, we find they are very successful here.
For those applying for an F-1 student visa, all of the following items must be submitted to receive consideration for admission:
The international student packet is required for any student to be accepted and for consideration to be made on completion of an I-20. It includes:
Application for admission on file
TOEFL score of 525 (paper) or (Minimum acceptable computerized version score for admission consideration: 190).
Proof of residency (in order to be charged in-district tuition and fees), notarized
Proof of financial ability to pay tuition and fees, notarized
Official transcripts from institutions attended (translated into English)

Official transcripts of secondary school (high school) and any post-secondary schools such as technical or trades schools, colleges or universities. Records which are not in English must be accompanied by an official notarized translation.
Official score report for the Test of English as a Foreign Language
Completed Notarized Statement of Financial Support (attached yellow form). This form is to be completed and signed by the individual or agency responsible for your financial support while you are in the United States for study. Notarized Residency Statement (attached blue form). If you will be living with a family member, friend or sponsor in the IVCC district, this form is to be completed by that person. If you will be living on your own, independently, this form is not needed.
Upon receipt of all of the above items, your application will be given full consideration. No I-20 forms are issued until an admission decision is made.
