Part-Time Faculty

IVCC is in need of part-time instructors for campus and extension classes for day, evening, and Saturday offerings. See qualifications legend below for the associated degree and/or experience requirements.  Salary for teaching a credit course is based on the part-time faculty salary schedule.  See application process at bottom of this page.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT DIVISION:

(All positions in this division are located on the IVCC Oglesby campus and require an Associate's Degree and/or 3 years full-time related industry experience)

Electronics & Electrician Instructors:  Beginning August 2018

Min. Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Electronics Technology, or Electronics Engineering Technology OR Associate Degree in Electronics, Electronics Technology, or Electronics Engineering Technology & a minimum of 2000 work hours as an electrical/electronics technician OR successfully completing the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Apprenticeship program and a minimum of 2000 work hours as an electrical/electronics technician OR 10 years’ work experience as an electrical/electronics technician.

Hydraulics Instructor, Monday evenings beginning January 2018

Pneumatics Instructor, Tuesday evenings beginning January 2018

Welding Classroom and Lab Instructors - needed to teach and train students! Instructors ideally need to be available for one or more classes offered in an 8- and 16-week section during mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings. 

 

NATURAL SCIENCES AND BUSINESS:

Agricultural Credit and Finance Instructor.  Bachelor's degree in Agriculture required.  Course meets Tuesday evenings from 6:00PM to 8:45PM starting 8/21/18 to 12/11/18. 

Crop Pest Management Instructor:  Bachelor's degree in Agriculture required.  Course meets 10/10/18 to 12/14/18 on M/W/F from 8:00am to 9:450am.

Professional Tutors needed in Math:  Bachelor's degree in Math, Math Ed or a closely related field, and minimum 2 years teaching experience required.  Applicants should have experience working one-on-one with students either in a tutoring setting or classroom setting.  Flexibility in working with a wide range of student abilities necessary.  Apply Online Selecting Tutors Category


HEALTH  PROFESSIONS:

For Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructors, requirements include:

  • RN with a current Illinois license
  • Must have completed the IL Department of Public Health's Train the Trainer program--(available online)
  • Current Health Care Provider CPR card (current AHA CPR instructor is a plus) 

Dental Assisting Instructors: Licensed Dental Hygienist and/or Current CDA credential from the Dental Assisting National Board or eligibility to take the CDA certification exam, and a minimum of two years recent chair side experience in general dental practice is required.  Must be a graduate of an ADA accredited Dental Assisting Program.  Laboratory experience is preferred.  Currently licensed dentists, dental hygienists, or dental assistants may apply.  Current CPR certification is required.

HUMANITIES, FINE ARTS & SOCIAL SCIENCES DIVISION:

Graphic Design Instructor:  Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Graphic Design, Art, Commercial Art, Digital Media, Instructional Media, Visual Communication and three (3) years of professional experience; or Associate’s degree from an accredited institution and six (6) years of professional experience required.
