Zoom at IVCC

Account Authentication

IVCC Faculty and staff who are logged into their networks accounts on campus when accessing the Zoom login portal should automatically be authenticated.

  • Faculty and Staff user names and passwords will be the same as their IVCC email credentials.
  • IVCC students will also have Zoom basic accounts that will be associated with their Blackboard accounts.
  • Faculty who will be meeting with their students via Zoom should add a Zoom tool link to their course navigation in Blackboard to ensure that students are authenticated when accessing their class 
    meetings.
  • Class meeting Zoom links may be set to require authentication, to ensure that only enrolled students are accessing the Zoom link.
  • Zoom cloud recordings may also be set to allow only authenticated users to view.
  • Detailed reports regarding the viewing of cloud recordings by authenticated users are available.

Adding a Zoom tool link to Blackboard course navigation

  1. Click on the small plus symbol that appears above the course navigation links
  2. Select add a tool link from the options
  3. Select Zoom Meeting from the listing of Tool Link options
  4. Provide the name for the link. Zoom Meeting or Zoom Account would both be appropriate
