IVCC "comprehensive educator" and "instructional strategies" summer courses

Illinois Valley Community College’s Continuing Education Center is offering two graduate credit courses this summer.

"Comprehensive Educator" (CPD-8003-06) will meet Tuesday through Saturday, June 3-7 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in Room B216.

Strategies will be taught for self-development and personal renewal. Educators will have the opportunity to gain insights into non-productive behaviors and attitudes in addition to learning how to be more effective in both their professional and personal life. Furthermore, educators will receive information to help students become more productive citizens as well as life long learners. Cost of the class is $364.

"Instructional Strategies" (CPD-8004-06) will meet Monday through Friday, June 9-13 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in Room B216. Participants will learn how to select, examine and practice research-based strategies for teaching in and out of the classroom. Learned teaching strategies may be used immediately in the participant’s own classroom. Textbooks are available in the IVCC bookstore. Cost of the course is $364.

Successful completion for each class entitles teachers to 45 CPDU credits. Educators who wish to receive graduate credit from Aurora University must bring a $225 check on the first day of class.
