Welcome to my course, Child Guidance/ Child Study (ECE 1201-300). This is a blended course at Illinois Valley Community College! My name is Lynne Weber and I will be your instructor and facilitator for this course. In addition to teaching this course, I am a retired third grade classroom teacher and am looking forward to sharing my experiences with you.

I am going to take some time now to give you an overview of what you can expect if you enroll in Early Childhood, Child Guidance--Blended. We are going to meet on campus eight times during the Fall, 2007 semester plus for the final exam. You will be introduced to the Blackboard Learning System during the first class period. In both of the classes I teach, I place much value and emphasis on discussion and application of course materials; you will see this same emphasis as I move Child Guidance to the blended format. This course is designed to be a learning community. There are discussion boards, tests, and readings as well as presentations and projects. I think you will find that this blended format will fit nicely into your busy and active lifestyle.
