  Strategies for College On-line

Introduction

Week of 6/13

1.    Email your instructor

The first and most important thing to do is to email your instructor to let me know you are enrolled in the class. Chances are if you are here and reading this, you may have already done this. If not, email Mary_Turchi@ivcc.edu.

2.     Log into Blackboard

Login to the Blackboard site and click on Discussion Board. All postings will be done here. Take note of  the topics that will discussed over the next few weeks. For a more detailed guide to posting, click here. Do not work ahead on the postings. Answer them only when directed to do so in the instructions. Many pertain to the reading assignment.

3.   Print documents for the week

**To download, click on the link and then print....

4.   View the Intro to SFC PowerPoint

This PowerPoint is a good introduction to the course and to the requirements. Be sure to have your documents downloaded and printed before viewing this. You need to have PowerPoint in order to view this presentation. To advance the slide, click anywhere on the screen. If you don't have PowerPoint, click here and get a 2-page sheet with the same information, but it is admittedly harder to sort through and not as organized as the presentation.

5.  Menu of Activities

Click here to view and print the Menu of Activities. These are items that you will do as part of the points for the midterm and final assessments. You can do these at any time and turn them in with the assessments. You will need 10 points for the midterm and 15 points for the final.

6.   Take time to look around the website

This is just as it says...take time to look around the different pages to get an overall feel for the coursework of the class.

ALWAYS consult the web page for weekly activities!!
