  Strategies for College Online

Week of 6/18

   This week's assignments

1.    Respond to "Welcome" message on Blackboard

Login to the Blackboard site and click on Discussion Board as you did in the last lesson. Click on the Conference titled "Hello" messages. Read messages posted by your classmates. Choose one that you have something in common with or who you would like to respond to and click Reply. Type in your answers and click Submit. Please try to respond to a variety of students--I would like for every student to have one reply. You may respond to more than one student...in fact I encourage it!!! For a more detailed guide to posting, click here.

2.    Read Chapter 2 (p. 24-45)

3.    View the PowerPoint Presentation

For each chapter, there is a PowerPoint presentation. Click to advance the slides (sometimes it takes 2 clicks). Take notes as needed. If you feel the need to print the presentation out, DO NOT print out the slides!! Use this document.

4.    Complete the Case Study by 6-25

Print the Case Study Worksheet. The questions below are to guide your thinking. Turn in the completed worksheet by June 25. (Please put your name on the top of your assignments. You can save it and send it as an attachment or print it out and send it through the mail.)

5.   Complete 2 of the 4 Journals by 6-25

For the remainder of the semester, you will be able to select which journals you will write for each chapter. Please put your name on the top of your journals.

6.    Turn in Journals and Case Study by June 25

Please save your journals in Microsoft Word or WordPerfect. If that's not possible, save them as an RTF file (Rich Text Format). In order to do this, select Save As and go down to file type. Choose the RTF option. For chapters with more than one journal, save them all in one document. Please put your name on the top of your journals.

Once you have the file(s) ready, email as an attachment, or mail or drop them off on campus at Shipping and Receiving (Lower level Bldg. C) or to the secretary in the Reading Lab in Room B201.  Always be sure to have a back-up!!

No assignments will be accepted after the due date.
