The Making Industry Meaningful In College (MIMIC) project received a National Science Foundation grant from 2005-2008. Technical programs are being revised around the capstone MIMIC project. Papers about the MIMIC project and NSF grant, written by Dorene Perez, Jim Gibson and Rose Marie Lynch, have been nominated for Best Paper Awards by the American Society for Engineering Education and by the National Association of Industrial Technology.
