Participate in the Relay
for Life, sponsoring a team - raising money and conducting the education station
at the actual
walk.
The education team made up of IVCC nursing students has received a state recognition award
for the several years. We will be conducting this again Summer of 2007
Host orientation for new
incoming nursing students before the beginning of each school year.
Host a Welcome Lunch for
all nursing students, nursing faculty and staff on the first Monday of the fall
semester.
Sponsor an annual blood and
bone marrow drive in the fall, which will be held on Thurs. 10-05-06 in the
lower gym. Contact the Nursing Office at 224-0485 if interested in donating.
Sponsor a Giving Tree with
names of residents of various long-term agencies.
In conjunction with Nursing
Management Class, Nursing 2200, sponsor a toy drive for area needy children.
In conjunction with Nursing
Management Class, Nursing 2200, sponsor coat drive, food drives, book drives
for local agencies.
Sponsor drives for needed
items to be sent to our armed service personnel and families left at home.
In conjunction with
Chemistry Club, sponsors a Children's Christmas Party.
Sponsor a national speaker
on nursing issues.
Host receptions following
the AD and LP Nursing Graduation and Pinning Ceremonies.
In conjunction with area
Health Fairs and schools, conduct various educational workshops - especially
hand washing techniques with "glow bug germs".
We
then provide the children paper IVCC Nursing Caps and stickers.
Provide a student
representative to the Nursing Faculty/Program Committee meetings.
Provide a student
representative to the IVCC Student Government Organization
We are constantly adding
new events to our IVCC SNA agenda.
