Downloading and Using Graphics from the Web

Downloading images from the web is simple, but keep copyright considerations in mind. It's best to assume that everything on the Internet is copyrighted, so you should not just take any images that you like. Instead, make sure that permission has been granted for the use of any images that you download.

Fortunately, many creators of graphics have waived copyright and have made their graphics available to users at web sites that offer "free" web graphics. Before you use graphics from such web sites, make sure to read the usage policies. Some web sites provide free graphics but ask that you include a link back to the site on pages where you use the graphics. Other web sites do not require such link backs.

You can find many free graphics from the following web sites:

You can also use Google's image search, but keep copyright considerations in mind.
