Guide to the aerial photos of Matagorda Island, TX

Exercise 11, Problem 1.b.

Measure the width of Green's Bayou, now quite narrow (you must make the measurement on the photo in your lab book).  Measure the width in centimeters, multiply it by the scale (25,400), and convert the measurement to meters (divide by 100 centimeters in a meter).

To determine the locations of erosion and deposition, compare photos A & B.  Erosion: what features present in photo A are missing on photo B?  Deposition: what features in photo B are not present in photo A?

The curved lines are part of what feature?  How did they form?

Examine the feature in the lagoon.  What is it? (hint: see figure 11.6 on page 200 in the lab book).  How did it form?
