Problem 3:  I have rephrased (and, I hope clarified) the questions from the book.

• Does the areas of high hazard on the map on page 127 match the areas most recently covered by lava as indicated on the map on page 122?
• What other factors might determine which areas are designated as high and low hazards?

Use what you have learned about volcanoes from the text and lab book and notes to answer these questions.

Problem 8:  The lava is on its way toward your house!  Use what you have learned about lava flows from the text and lab book and notes to come up with two or three techniques that might stop  or divert the lava.
