This notice is more specific to your course than the general notice to online students registered students may have already received from this office in the mail. Please note a few additional points of clarification.
1. Go to the IVCC Bookstore to obtain course materials. Be
certain to purchase the materials for the online section of the course.
Your schedule lists the course number and section (like PSY 1000-100).
You may also purchase your textbooks online at
http://www.ivccbookstore.com/. 2. Attend an orientation session. As of fall 2007, you are
required to participate in an orientation session. If you do not
complete the orientation by the Friday of the first week of classes, you
will be dropped from your online course. If you previously participated
in an orientation AND successfully completed an IVCC online course, you
will not be required to take the orientation again, and therefore were
not asked to register for an orientation when you registered for your
online class. If your schedule lists an orientation session, you must
attend. Orientations can be completed online or on-campus. More
information is available at
http://www.ivcc.edu/dl/Orientation/about.html. 4. Log into your class on the start date indicated above. If you
experience difficulties, contact the technical support at the host
college, listed above. And if you still encounter difficulties, please
contact our office for assistance. 5. Arrange to have tests proctored if your instructor requires
paper-and-pencil tests. The Assessment Center at IVCC provides this
service. Your tests will need to be mailed from your instructor,
directly to the IVCC Assessment Center. 6. Watch your email accounts for further information from the
college hosting your course. Be certain to also watch you IVCC email
accounts. 7. Remember that your hosting institution may not use the Blackboard Learning System, and if you use Blackboard for other IVCC classes, this online course will not show up in you’re ‘My Courses’ listing. |
