Program Description
| The Certified Nursing Assistant curriculum consists of three courses which includes lecture, college laboratory practice, and clinical experience in long-term care facility. These courses are offered concurrently. The Certified Nursing Assistant Program is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health. A grade of "C" or above in each course is required in order to sit for state licensure examination.

Admission to the Certified Nursing Assistant Program does not follow the usual college schedule. Starting dates are announced in the area newspapers three to four times a year.
The Certified Nursing Assistant program can be completed in an eight (8) week session .
A two step T-B test is required for admission to the clinical component of the CNA program. Certified Nurse Assistant status is required for admission to the professional and/or practical nurse program.
A state approved - nurse assistant course may be taken at local high schools, nursing homes or community colleges.
