Welcome to Holistic Nursing IV

| Welcome to Holistic Nursing IV. In
this class we will be exploring content related the the respiratory,
cardiac, vascular, and renal systems. The course is designed to build on
existing knowledge gained in previous nursing courses, as well as clinical
experiences. The course will meet for lecture on Mondays and Fridays in
concurrence with the college calendar. In addition a two hour seminar will
be required. Please refer to your course schedule for meeting times. The
clinical component for this course is aimed at the application of theory in
the clinical setting. It is offered in a preceptor format. Please see the
course syllabus for more information. For ease of use I have elected to use Blackboard to enhance the existing format of the course. By following the link below, you will be able to access course documents, browse links, view Power Point presentations, print off handouts, lecture notes and outlines, check grades, participate in online study groups at your leisure, and join in online office hours and test reviews prior to exams. This format also allows students and myself to communicate easily. It is expected that you check Blackboard frequently for announcements. If you do not have a computer at home, you may use any of the computer labs at IVCC to review the course materials and receive messages. If you do wish to use your home computer, you may need to update your browser if it is more than a couple of years old. Browser updates can be downloaded free from Netscape or Microsoft. You will need to know which operating system you have, for example Windows XP Home or Professional, etc. In addition, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or greater and can be downloader free at their website. Most of you already have done these things to participate in the Issues class, but if you have problems, let me know. All exams for this course will be given on the computer using Blackboard We will meet on exam days at 7:30 in the morning. We will break on exam days from 9:00 until 9:30, resuming lecture in our assigned room at 9:30. This online testing format will allow you to receive immediate feedback about your test performance, as well as eliminate the necessity for test review unless a private meeting is requested. If you have any questions, please let me know. Follow the link below to get started!
