Edible Car Contest for Kids

Illinois Valley Community College hosted an Edible Car Contest for Kids, co-sponsored by the Starved Rock Associates for Vocational and Technical Education, in May 2007.

Eighty second-graders from area schools worked in teams to build vehicles entirely from food items and competed for prizes. The contest was designed to give the students experience working in teams and to illustrate the creativity and fun of design and engineering. Members of the IVCC Leadership Team assisted with the contest.
