Application Procedure

2.1  Therapeutic Massage Application Packet (Pink)
2.1A     Application packets will be available in the Counseling Center or the Admissions and Records Office year-round.
 
2.1B     Application packets may only be turned into the Admissions Office between the first Monday in February and the first Monday in February and the first Monday in April.

2.1C     Application packets are date-stamped as they are received in the Admissions Office.
 

2.1D     No Application packets will be accepted outside of the parameters specified in 2.1B, except as specified  in 2.1E following.

2.1E     Applications may be reopened after May 1 should space become available in the program

 
2.2  Supporting Documents
2.2A     All supporting documents (see 2.2B) are required in the Admissions office by the first Friday in April of the year you are applying.

2.2B     *Official Final Copy of your High School Transcript (also required of those who did not graduate

       *Official Copy of your College Transcript(s) -DO NOT send an IVCC transcript

       *GED Score Report (if applicable)

       *Two (2) Therapeutic Massage receipts

       *Essay

      *No faxes or photocopies will be accepted

2.3  Transfer Students from Other Colleges/Schools with Therapeutic Massage Coursework
2.3A     Application packet to the Therapeutic Massage Program must be submitted directly to the Therapeutic Massage Coordinator, contact Cherie Monterastelli at (815) 224-0507

2.3B     Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges/schools must be sent to the Admissions Office.

2.3C     Therapeutic Massage credits will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis.  Please submit course descriptions from previous Therapeutic Massage program (especially those on an hours based program, please provide a breakdown of the hours spent for each course)

2.3D     All other credits are subject to Illinois Valley Community College transfer policy.

2.4  Licensed Massage Therapists (Advanced Placement criteria for AAS Degree)
2.4A     Submit a letter of application for admission to the Therapeutic Massage Coordinator, Cherie Monterastelli    (815) 224-0507,  by June 1 of the year of intended admission.

2.4B     Students must be licensed to practice Massage Therapy in the State of Illinois.

2.4C     Licensed Massage Therapists will submit a copy of current license, transcripts from school (if applicable) and a letter of recommendation from their immediate supervisor.
