Course Description

CSN 1225 - Core Networking Technologies

Students will learn how to select and set up a network architecture. Connections, network equipment, cabling, needs analysis and hardware specifications are covered. Lecture, two hours per week; lab, two hours per week.
Prerequisite: None
Credit Hours: 3

Homework

Homework is posted online in Blackboard .

There shall be about 12 Homework assignments for this course, each worth 100 points.

Each chapter's homework for this course shall (usually) include a hands-on lab exercise for practical experience,  short answer questions (true/false, multiple choice) to reinforce principles, and an assignment using the sim CD for you to gain experience with equipment not available in the lab. As each student is given a "lab drive" you may install the sim software on your hard drive (as well as at home) and complete the assignment in class. Lab drives may not be taken home.
