April 2006
In an effort to use our internet resources here at IVCC effectively, we will be testing several products designed to shape internet traffic and content over the next few weeks. The product we are using now works based on a rules database provided by an outside vendor that categorizes sites and allows us to block or allow based on those overall categories.
Remember, we are Testing. As we learn the product and get a feel for the types of traffic that are abusing resources, we will adjust the rules accordingly to achieve a balance between functionality and efficient, cost effective use of our internet connection to insure the educational needs of our students are being met.
Below is an example of what would come up if the website was currently being filtered.
