Full-Time Faculty
Instructor/Program Coordinator in Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
(Tenure Track)
Teach and assess student learning outcomes in Paramedic, Emergency Medical
Technology, Disaster Preparedness and various emergency certification (PEPP,
PALS, BTLS, ALS) courses and coordinate program activities including
collaboration with the EMS community. Develop and promote the necessary
curriculum designed both as transfer courses to four-year
colleges/universities, and applied degree programs (as appropriate). In
collaboration with colleagues, be responsible for ongoing curriculum
evaluation and improvement within the context of IVCC’s general education
philosophy. Facilitate student learning outside of the classroom through
participation in student activities, college, and community events. Assist with student recruitment. Requirements include National
certification and State of Illinois licensed Paramedic; Bachelor of Science
degree in a related field or coursework toward a B.S. degree; at least 5
years of experience in EMS field; and eligibility for instructor credentials
for various emergency certifications (BTLS, ALS, PALS, PEPP). Teaching
experience at the college level and working knowledge of fire
service/science preferred.
