Support Staff Distinguished Service Award Guidelines
Purpose of the Support
Staff Distinguished Service Award
This is the 15th year of
awarding the Support Staff Distinguished Service Award. This award was
established to recognize a support staff person who demonstrates a high level
of achievement in his/her work performance, positive interpersonal
characteristics, and loyalty, respect and commitment to IVCC.
All support staff employees (does not
include administrators, full or part-time faculty, or HR staff) who were
employed by IVCC during the preceding calendar year will be eligible to receive
the award. Once an individual has won the award, he/she will not be eligible
for nomination for three years.
Recipient Awards, Recognition
1. The individual selected for the Support
Staff Distinguished Service Award will be announced at the annual Support Staff
2. The individual selected will be
formally recognized at IVCC’s annual Recognition Event.
3. A stipend in the gross amount of $500
will be awarded to the recipient.
The selection process will be managed
by the Office of Human Resources (HR).
1. Nominations will be solicited from
support staff employees, faculty members, and administration. HR will send an
“everyone” email with a link to the nomination form and/or an attachment for
the nomination form. All completed nomination forms need to be returned to HR.
An IVCC employee may nominate only one support staff person for the award.
2. HR will coordinate with an independent
committee to evaluate all of the nominations and individually score each
nomination, if needed.
3. HR will compile the results of the
independent committee to determine the finalists.
4. HR will distribute a ballot sheet to
all support staff employees to give them an opportunity to score the finalists.
5. All support staff employees will score
the finalists using a score sheet and the nomination information.
