Full-Time Faculty
Anthropology and Sociology Instructor
IVCC anticipates filling this tenure track position to begin January 2013. The
person selected for this role will have the opportunity to teach and
assess student learning outcomes in anthropology and sociology courses as well as develop and promote curriculum designed as transfer
courses to four-year colleges/universities. In collaboration with colleagues, be responsible for
ongoing curriculum evaluation and improvement within the context of
IVCC's general education philosophy. Facilitate student learning outside
of the classroom through participation in student activities, college,
and community events; and assist with student recruitment. To succeed in
this role, you must have a Master’s
degree in Social Sciences (at least 18 graduate credit hours in anthropology and 18 graduate credit hours in sociology) from an accredited college/university (Ph.D. in anthropology preferred); two years teaching experience at the
college level required (community college teaching experience preferred); and demonstrated commitment to the mission of the comprehensive community college. Ability to use Smart
classroom technology is a plus.
