Licensed Practical Nurse Program
| The Practical Nurse Program at Illinois Valley Community College
qualifies the graduate to take the NCLEX-PN examination and, after
successful completion, is qualified to apply for licensure in the state of
Illinois. If the practical nurse graduate wishes to continue study for the registered nursing program, the curriculum is so structured that the LPN graduate may add to the existing practical nurse curriculum to avoid repetition of courses. |

Although the program is designed to be completed in two (2) semesters and one 8-week summer session, many students find it advisable to complete several of the non-nursing requirements prior to enrollment in NUR 121. Please take the time to look at the Application Requirements.
