Certified Nursing Assistant
Program Design
| The Certified Nursing
Assistant curriculum consists of three courses which
includes lecture, college laboratory practice, and
clinical experience in long-term care facility. These
courses are offered concurrently. The Certified Nursing Assistant Program is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health. A grade of "C" or above in each course is required in order to receive state certification. |

Admission to the Certified Nursing Assistant Program does not follow the usual college schedule. Starting dates are announced in the area newspapers three to four times a year.
The Certified Nursing Assistant program can be completed in an eight (8) week session or one full semester.
A two step T-B test is required for admission to the clinical component of the CNA program. Certified Nurse Assistant status is required for admission to the professional and/or practical nurse program.
A state approved - nurse assistant course may be taken at local high schools, nursing homes or community colleges.
