English Composition 2
ENG 1002 Prerequisite
To help increase the likelihood that students enter ENG 1002 well prepared to begin the course work, Illinois Valley Community College has established a minimum skill level for students enrolling in the course.
Instructors are notified of any students in ENG 1002 courses who have not met the enrollment requirement. However, there is sometimes a delay in this notification, meaning that a student may be in the course for a week or two before the instructor is informed that the student has not met the requirement for enrolling in the course. Don't let this happen to you! It is your responsibility to make sure that you have met the requirements for enrolling in the course.
Illinois Valley Community College Students
English Composition 1 (ENG 1001, or its equivalent) is the prerequisite for enrollment in English Composition 2. Students must complete ENG 1001 with a "D" or higher to enroll in this course.
However, you should note that a "C" or higher in ENG 1001 is required before credit for an ENG 1001 course will transfer. A students who earned a "D" in ENG 1001 and plans to transfer to another college or university may be better off retaking ENG 1001 before taking this course.

If you are taking this course from a college other than Illinois Valley Community College, you need to have met the requirements established by your college for enrollment in an English Composition 2 course.
