Documenting Sources from the Hamlet Critical Edition
Method 1
When you list works from the Norton Critical Edition of Hamlet on your Works Cited page, the original publication information for the work is listed first. The publication information that follows is for the Norton Critical Edition itself. (The Works Cited page should not be in bold fonts.)
Method 2
If you use at least a few works from the critical edition, cross-referencing the works is the better option. You do this by listing the Norton Critical Edition as a separate source. Then, for each work you list from the Norton Critical Edition, you do not need to include all of the publication information for the critical edition (because it is already listed on the page). Instead, you would present the original publication information for the work, followed by "Rpt. in Hoy 149-156." (with no quotation marks and using the complete page numbers for the article). (The Works Cited page should not be in bold fonts.)
