Netiquette

"Netiquette," formed from the combining of "Net" (for network) and "etiquette," is one of many words arising from the computer and Internet revolution. According to the American Heritage Dictionary, "etiquette" is defined as "the practices and forms prescribed by social convention or by authority." "Netiquette," then, simply refers to the proper "practices and forms" to follow when communicating with others through the Internet.

We interact often in this course, and it's important that we communication in a constructive and polite way. The following pages explain some of the principles of Netiquette that need to be followed in the course.
