Future plans in Education at IVCC
AAT Degree in Special Education
This degree will address the shortage of qualified special education teachers
in middle school and high school. The statewide committee has not been
formed at this time. Once the state has committed to
requirements/standards for students in special education programs,
representatives from community college and university representatives
will form a work group to discuss program accreditations. It will need
to be approved by both the Illinois Community College Board and the
Board of Higher Ed.
AAT Degree in Early Childhood Education
This degree will address the shortage of qualified Early Childhood
Education teachers.
