Textbooks

Students need to have their textbooks on the first day of class.

Students and their family members can direct any questions regarding the rental program or textbooks for any IVCC course to Jackie Carlson at the IVCC Bookstore. You may contact Jackie by phone at 815-224-0222 or by email at Jackie_Carlson@ivcc.edu.

How to get your books

IVCC Textbook Rental List

Please make sure that you bring a copy of your IVCC schedule with you when you come to pick up your books. You will bring the schedule to the textbook counter in the back of the bookstore and an associate will retrieve your books for you. If you forget a copy of your schedule, the associate will direct you to a set of computers located in our lobby where you will enter your last name and social security number to print your schedule. You must have your schedule in order to get your books.

Anyone can return a rental book. It does not have to be the student who rented it. The person who returns the rental book will receive the deposit back and it will be their responsibility to return the deposit money to the renter.

Rental textbooks are $48: This includes the $28 rental fee and a $20 deposit. When the students return their rental books on time and in rentable condition, they will receive their $20 deposit back.

You can also check to see if a book is in stock by going to our website at www.ivccbookstore.com. You would search the specific semester by your course number (for example: PSY-1000-517).

When to Return your books

Please remember that all rental textbooks are due back to the IVCC bookstore by then end of each semester.  Specific due dates are assigned to each sememster and can be found in Important Dates/Deadlines.

Students:

Please remember that extremely limited highlighting in your rental textbooks is acceptable, but writing in the books is not allowed.

Your student account will be charged a replacement cost for any damaged books not returned in rentable condition. This means that your grades will be held, no transcripts will be dispersed and you will not be able to register for any upcoming semesters until the replacement cost is paid.
