Taking Tests Online
Before the test
1. Only use the browser recommended by your instructor--most likely this will be a version of Internet Explorer.
2. Enable Javascript. In Internet Explorer go to:
Tools / Internet Options /
Security Tab / Custom Level /
Active Scripting/ check Enable.
3. Accept Cookies. In Internet Explorer go to:
Tools / Internet Options / Privacy Tab / move slider down to accept all cookies.
4. Turn off pop-up blockers.
May very depending on system.
During the test
1. Only attempt the test on a stable Internet connection.
2. If using dial-up, inform others in the household not to pick up the receiver. Disable call waiting.
3. Close all other applications and browsers.
4. Allow the whole test to load before answering the first question.
5. Use buttons within Blackboard to navigate. Avoid using the browser's Back button as it may prematurely submit your test.
6. Always use the save button next to each question. You can change your response and re-save the response.
7. Don't use the save button at the bottom of the test page. Use the submit button instead.
8. Hit the submit button only once and wait for a confirmation that the test is submitted.
