Warehousing & Distribution

You may pursue the Certificate in Warehousing & Distribution

Illinois Valley Community College is offering a certificate program to help prepare the entry level worker for positions within the growing warehousing and logistics industry of the Illinois Valley. The core of this program consists of a series of 6 classes combining classroom discussion and technical skill building to familiarize a student with the equipment, tools and technology used in the warehouse setting. Topics covered include working in the warehousing environment, understanding the warehousing and distribution process, and building an increased understanding of the organization structure of a business and the role of a warehousing worker. Other topics covered including effective communications, forklift training, materials handling including palletizing and packaging. Completing the program are courses in industrial safety, applied mathematics, and basic computer skills for the workplace. The Certificate in Warehousing and Distribution is a 16 credit hour program.

Classes are held Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
Tuesday and Thursday meet 6:00 to 9:30 p.m.
Saturday classes meet 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
